The 2010 Wordstock Tour is bringing the Rock Bottom Remainders’ classic brand of rock and roll to Washington, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston this April 20-24.

Together with the Pearson Foundation, we’re working with great non-profit organizations in each community. In celebration of their new We Give Books program, the Pearson Foundation is also donating five new children’s books for every ticket sold to young people served by local school or literacy organizations.

Here’s how it works:

In Washington, the Besides the Music event on April 20, and the April 21 concert will support World Vision’s efforts on behalf of Haiti relief and the Washington-based America’s Promise Alliance. We Give Books will donate five books directly to the DC Public Schools for every ticket sold.

In Philadelphia, the April 22 concert will support the Free Library of Philadelphia, and We Give Books will donate five books directly to the Philadelphia Public Schools for every ticket sold.

In New York, the April 23 concert will support World Vision’s efforts on behalf of Haiti relief, the 92nd Street Y, and America’s Promise Alliance. We Give Books will donate five books directly to the New York City Public Schools for every ticket sold.

In Boston, the April 24 concert will support World Vision’s efforts on behalf of Haiti relief and the America’s Promise Alliance. We Give Books will donate five books directly to Boston Public Schools for every ticket sold.

About the charities:

WORLD VISION

World Vision has worked in Haiti for 30 years and has more than 800 staff members on the ground today.  As one of the first aid agencies present following the devastating earth quake this past January, World Vision is working on the urgent needs of the earthquake survivors helping Haiti to rebuild and recover in the weeks and months to come.

World Vision will use the proceeds from the Tour specifically to help the children and schools of Haiti, where more than 75% of the schools were destroyed.
